Notable this week: Pacifica takes the county’s No. 1 ranking into its Empire League opener against visiting Crean Lutheran on Monday. The Mariners play host to No. 7 El Modena on Tuesday at 6 p.m. … Canyon jumps two spots to No. 6 after defeating El Modena 2-0 in the teams’ league opener. … Fullerton climbs a spot to No. 10 heading into a nonleague game at No. 21 Villa Park on Wednesday.

1. Pacifica (10-0): Michaela Meza delivered a two-out, two-run single before the Mariners’ showdown against Huntington Beach on Friday was suspended by rain.

2. Orange Lutheran (8-2): Notre Dame-bound Brianne Weiss dominated in two wins last week, including a perfect game against Cajon.

3. Los Alamitos (10-3): Gabby Terrones went 4 for 6 with two home runs and four RBIs to help the Griffins’ bats stay hot in wins against Cypress and Fountain Valley.

8. Capistrano Valley (9-3): Madi McDonnell pitched four strong innings and drove in three runs in a 7-2 win against Fountain Valley on Saturday.
