Lake Forest City Council member Benjamin Yu was arrested Monday for the second time on suspicion of domestic violence, following his arrest in 2023.
Around 1:45 p.m., deputies responded to a domestic dispute on the 100 block of Fremont Street in Lake Forest, where a woman with a contusion on her head was later hospitalized with minor injuries. The suspect, identified as the 41-year-old council member, was later booked on suspicion of domestic violence and violation of an active restraining order, Orange County Sheriff’s Sgt. Frank Gonzalez said.
Yu could not immediately be reached for comment.
Last year, Yu was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence July 1, the Sheriff’s Department said at the time.
