The Chargers said Friday they completed a second interview with Baltimore Ravens director of player personnel Joe Hortiz for their general manager’s job. Hortiz and New York Giants assistant GM Brandon Brown are the only two candidates to have second interviews so far.

Hortiz joined the Ravens as a scout in 1998, moving through the ranks before assuming his current position in 2019. He has worked closely with Ravens coach John Harbaugh, the brother of new Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh. The Chargers said he had an in-person meeting for his second interview.

In addition to Hortiz and Brown, the Chargers have interviewed interim GM JoJo Wooden, Chicago Bears assistant GM Ian Cunningham, Buffalo Bills director of player personnel Terrance Gray, New Orleans Saints assistant GM Jeff Ireland, Indianapolis Colts assistant GM Ed Dodds, Bears co-player personnel director Jeff Jeff and Dawn Aponte, an NFL administrator.

The Chargers are seeking a replacement for Tom Telesco, who was fired along with Coach Brandon Staley on Dec. 15, one day after a 63-21 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Wooden, a longtime director of player personnel with the Chargers, served as their interim GM for the final three games of the season.

Jim Harbaugh was hired Wednesday to replace Staley, and he was given a five-year contract.
