The Eagles long goodbye got a little longer Wednesday, Oct. 11 with the announcement of a third show at the Kia Forum in January 2024.
The Los Angeles band announced on Monday, Oct. 4 that it would play a pair of hometown shows at the Forum on Friday, Jan. 5 and Saturday, Jan. 6. Now, a third show was added for Friday, Jan. 12. Steely Dan will open all three shows.
The Long Goodbye Final Tour was designed with room to add shows as needed. As a final tour, the band, which includes members Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey, has previously said it will play as many shows as each city demands.
Given the band’s deep roots in the Los Angeles area, as well its enduring popularity here, there’s certainly plenty of demand for these shows.
The Eagles also have a long history with the Forum. Though the band got its start in smaller clubs such as the Troubadour in West Hollywood, by 1975, on the One of These Nights Tour, it played the Forum for the first time. The band returned a year later for three nights which were recorded for the album “Live at the Forum ’76,” released just before the “Hotel California” album made them even bigger stars.
The January shows come almost exactly 10 years after the Eagles played six shows at the Forum to reopen it after a $100 million renovation in 2014.
A presale for tickets for the Friday, Jan. 5 and Saturday, Jan. 6 shows started Wednesday, Oct. 11 and continues through 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12. A presale for the Friday, Jan. 12 show opens at 10 a.m. Oct. 12. General ticket sales for all three of the January shows begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13 at Ticketmaster.com.
