The streets of downtown Long Beach are about to get real artsy again with the return of the Downtown Art Walk.
The quarterly series returns Saturday, Oct. 14 from noon to 6 p.m. at various locations in downtown Long Beach. People can expect to see displays of paintings, photography, sculptures and other forms of art as well as artists creating pieces live on the street plus vendors who will set up their spaces along the street selling jewelry and other trinkets.
The Art Walk will include three central hubs located at the Mosaic development at the Promenade between Third and Fourth streets, the Long Beach Museum of Art Downtown, 356 E 3rd St. and the East Village Arts Park on Elm Avenue between Broadway and First Street.
Several exhibits will also make up the Art Walk including a poster exhibit located on the Promenade between Broadway and Third Street while works by Carl Aldana, who sketched and painted Long Beach’s neighborhoods and views will be on display at The Long Beach Museum of Art’s Downtown space, 356 E. Third St., The Arts Council for Long Beach’s Professional Artist Fellows Exhibition will recognize the 2023 Professional Artist Fellows with an opening exhibit at the Billie Jean King Main Library from 1 to 5 p.m.
The next Art Walk dates are Saturday, Jan. 13, Saturday, April 13 and Saturday, July 13.
The Art Walk is organized by the Downtown Long Beach Alliance, the Arts Council for Long Beach, DreamKreator Studios, Grey LB and Studio One Eleven.
