Westminster will host its first-ever Taste of Westminster food festival on Friday, Sept. 22, showcasing the city’s primo culinary offerings, ranging from slice joints to Vietnamese eateries.
Westminster residents will receive 10 free tasting tickets (up to six per address) to use for bites from area restaurants, including boba/milk tea shops Aiyu Cha and Freshly Tea; Banh Khot Lady, which specializes in crispy Vietnamese bite-sized mini pancakes, savory treats that helped save the owner from destitution; Calixto’s Pizzeria; bubble tea purveyors Meet Fresh which also specializes in Taiwanese desserts; Mr. Shawarma; and hotpot chain Tasty Pot. Boozy libations will be available (cash bar) for 21-and-over revelers.
“We are proud to host the Taste of Westminster on Friday evening to kick off the weekend, which will feature local eateries that really exemplify the uniqueness of the diverse Westminster community,” said Christine Cordon, Westminster city manager, in a written statement.
The event coincides with the city’s second annual Fall Festival, which runs from Friday, Sept. 22 through Sunday, Sept 24, where locals can enjoy a family-friendly carnival and music care of local crooners and entertainers. The city’s Taste event prefaces similar food events happening in Laguna Beach (Oct. 5) and Santa Ana (Oct. 14).
Taste of Westminster happens 5 to 9 p.m. Friday
