Mater Dei and Mission Viejo’s football programs, ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in Orange County, respectively, will be in the Washington metropolitan area this weekend for games.
Mater Dei (4-0), ranked No. 1 in the county and the nation, departs Wednesday night for its game at St. Frances Academy (1-4) of Baltimore, Md. on Friday at 4 p.m. PST.
The Monarchs are scheduled to land in Maryland on Thursday morning, Mater Dei spokesperson Allison Bergeron said.
The game is being streamed on gamenetwork.app, Bergeron confirmed.
The Monarchs also is hosting an on-campus viewing party of the game for students, parents, alumni and fans.
The second-ranked Diablos (4-1) departed early Wednesday morning for their game at St. John’s College (2-1) of Washington, D.C. on Saturday at 11 a.m. PST.
Mission Viejo’s plans include practices at the University of Maryland and Under Armour facility, and visits to the White House, Arlington National Cemetery and Washington monuments.
St. Frances and St. John’s are located about 40 miles apart.
