Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights is bringing a pair of new live entertainment experiences to its annual spooky event, which kicks off Thursday, Sept. 7 and runs select evenings through Tuesday, Oct. 31.

The theme park has teamed up with horror film production company Blumhouse to bring “The Purge: Dangerous Waters” and “Blumhouse: Behind the Screams” to life.

HHN has presented “The Purge” franchise in various mazes, scare zones and even a Terror Tram takeover throughout the past decade and explored the world where all crime, even murder, is legal for 12 hours as part of the government-sanctioned purge.

“The Purge: Dangerous Waters” show continues that frightful theme and brings it out onto open waters inside where the WaterWorld show takes place on the upper lot of the theme park. The show will be filled with high-action stunts, laser effects and fiery explosions.

“Blumhouse: Behind the Screams” is a new original concept that will showcase a selection of Blumhouse films including the forthcoming films “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” which is due out Oct. 27, and “The Exorcist: Believer,” in theaters Oct. 6, as well as hits like “M3gan” and “The Black Phone.” It’s a fourth-wall-breaking experience that will allow guests to really get inside of these films, as well as look at film props, costume displays and encounter some frightful characters up close.
