Wow, it’s a scorcher out there! I hope you’re all staying cool in this heat.

While there aren’t any large-scale music festivals happening over this Labor Day weekend, we do have Beyoncé in town.

Yes, Queen Bey is back and she’s bringing her Renaissance World Tour to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Sept. 1-2 and celebrating her 42nd birthday with her fans at the venue on Sept. 4, too.

While it’s not the absolute insanity that was Taylor Swift’s six sold-out nights at the stadium earlier this month, Beyoncé’s fans have been selling out these stops around the world. They’ve been showing up ready to sing and dance while sporting elaborate song and music video inspired outfits.

If you were lucky enough to score tickets or are splurging on expensive tickets from resellers because you just wanna feel the beat, reporter Holly Alvarado has all you need to know before you go to the shows.

It seems our team has basically taken up residence at SoFi Stadium to cover its massive back-to-back tours this month. Last weekend, Metallica took over the space for two evenings and reporter Peter Larsen wrote all about the band sharing its memories of forming in nearby Norwalk 42 years ago during night one. Hopefully you’re riding out this heatwave with some indoor activities this week. Last weekend, I sweated it out at the California Is For Lovers Festival at Oak Canyon Park with Alkaline Trio, Hawthorne Heights, Thrice, Atreyu, Thursday and more. This weekend, I’ll be inside the Parish at House of Blues Anaheim on Friday, Sept. 1 to check out Face to Face frontman Trever Keith’s sold out “Sight & Sound” art exhibit and acoustic performance. He’ll be showcasing a series of paintings themed to songs like “Disconnected,” “A-OK” and “Blind.” He’ll be sharing stories and playing solo material, as well as acoustic versions of Face to Face hits. It’s a super intimate space, so I’m looking forward to reporting back on this one next week.

I’ll also be enjoying a little early Halloween fun at the October Village in Santa Ana on Saturday, Sept. 2. Reporter Richard Guzman wrote all about this spooky and free market. Read all about it here.

Reverend Horton Heat’s ready to rock

Texas rockabilly group The Reverend Horton Heat love to play in front of Southern California crowds. Vocalist-guitarist James Heath spoke to reporter Holly Alvarado about returning to perform in Orange County at the inaugural Left Coast Luau on Saturday, Sept. 9.

Last week, we shared the news that festival promoter Brew Ha Ha Productions had announced that it would donate the profits from the event to the Maui Strong Fund. Party with Swifties like it’s 1989

We just can’t stop taking about Taylor Swift. She’s inescapable at the moment and, quite honestly, it seems like a lot of local Swifties are in extreme withdrawal since she’s moved on with The Eras Tour.

Fear not! City National Grove of Anaheim just announced that it’s hosting a “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” party on Friday, Oct. 27, the day Swift rereleases the beloved record. Fans can sing along to “Blank Space,” dance away to “Style” and swap their friendship bracelets once more. There will be plenty of Swift-themed backdrops for photos, giveaways and other surprises.
