The Brea Police Department responded Wednesday night to what it called a “major incident” at an apartment complex and urged people to remain indoors, avoid the area and use alternate routes.
Police on social media just before 8 p.m. said it happened at the Raintree apartment complex. The Raintree Apartment Homes are at 650 Tamarack Ave., west of the 57 Freeway and north of Lambert Road.
A law enforcement helicopter was hovering over the gated complex on Wednesday evening. Several outside agencies were assisting Brea police.
Brea Fire Department dispatch logs showed units were sent to the North Tamarack area beginning at 7:30 p.m. for a medical emergency.
Further information was not immediately available.
