Headed to the OC Fair this week? Here are some things to know.
General information:
Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and 11 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
General admission is $13 on Wednesdays and Thursdays and $15 on Fridays and weekends; tickets are $9 every day for children 6-12 and seniors 60 and older.
Tickets must be purchased ahead online at ocfair.com. Daily attendance is capped at 45,000 people and may sell out on popular days.
Parking is $12
Use Gate 1 on Fair Drive, which is the main gate, for Uber/Lyft/taxi drop-off and pickup
Things to do:
Tour the Art of Music Experience, a large exhibit in the Huntington Beach Building showcasing hand-painted reproductions of album covers, legendary musicians, neon signs and displays
Ethiopian cookbook author Lula Tilahan will appear at noon on Aug. 5, one of many cooking demonstrations fairgoers can catch daily in the OC Promenade.
The fair is celebrating Chicano Heritage Month for August with arts activities and demonstrations, including Chicana artist Alicia Rolon painting in the Visual Arts building from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 4-6.
Cheer on the All-Alaskan Racing Pigs; races start every hour and a half beginning at 2 p.m. on weekdays and 12:30 p.m. on weekends in the Plaza Pacifica. The last race is 8 p.m. each day.
There are nightly food contests for children and adults, from who can eat watermelon the fastest to who can stack apples up the highest. They are free and fun, in the OC Promenade starting at 7 p.m.
