Stand-up comedian and actor Dave Chappelle is making a stop on his summer tour at the Toyota Arena in Ontario on Wednesday, Aug. 2.
Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27 at LiveNation.com. Like much of his other live performances, no cellphones, cameras, or recording devices will be allowed at this show.
All phones and smart watches will be secured in Yondr pouches that will be unlocked after the performance. Guests will maintain possession of their phones throughout the night and, if needed, may access them at designated Yondr unlocking stations in the lobby. Anyone caught with a cell phone in the venue will be immediately ejected.
Chapelle is best known for his satirical comedy sketch series “Chappelle’s Show,” which aired on Comedy Central from 2003-2006. He’s also co-wrote the stoner comedy film “Half Baked,” which also marked his first lead role as an actor. Other films that have featured Chappelle include “The Nutty Professor” “Con Air” and “A Star Is Born.”
After a brief hiatus from performing, Chappelle returned to stand-up and signed and released a $20-million-per-release comedy-special deal with Netflix which consisted of a total of six specials. Three of those specials earned Chappelle three Emmy awards and he has won the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album three years in a row, from 2018-2020.
