A bear was killed Monday morning, June 19, on the 14 Freeway in the Santa Clarita area when struck by a car, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash was reported around 5:10 a.m. on the freeway at Soledad Canyon.
ABC7 reported two cars hit the animal, which appeared to be a cub, but the CHP did not confirm those details.
According to the CHP, the person who reported the crash was the same person whose vehicle struck the animal.
