Summer fun is starting and that means the Pearson Park Summer Nights Under the Stars series is here.
Shows are at the Pearson Park Amphitheatre and cost $3 per person, with children 8 and young as well as military and Anaheim veterans free (plus three guests for veterans).

Assistance League installs new officers
Congratulations to the new board of the Assistance League of Anaheim. President Reon Boydstun-Howard is ready to serve with new officers.
Upcoming Assistance League events include the Creative Identity Summer Concert and boutique, which opens at 5:30 p.m. on June 24 at Anaheim First Christian Church. From noon to 3 p.m. on July 30 is The World of Wine lunch and learn. The event includes a three-course lunch with wine pairings, education and entertainment. Guests must pre-register by July 18.

Music at the Muzeo
The Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center is presenting its first summer concert series, with the intention of it becoming an annual thing.
There will be free, outdoor performances spotlighting Blues/Roots, Surf Rock and Western Swing artists in a family friendly environment.
Performances are scheduled in the Muzeo courtyard and the first concerts feature Kid Ramos on June 30, Deke Dickerson on July 28 and Sean Oliu on Aug. 25.
All concerts are at 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The public is invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic dinners to the show. There will be a free arts and crafts booth offered for the children.

Race with the Anaheim Community Foundation
The Anaheim Community Foundation has been selected as a participating charity for the return of the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend, Jan 11-14, and registration is now open for the various races.
Charity race entries are available for the 5K on Jan. 12, the 10K on Jan. 13, the half marathon on Jan. 14, and the Dumbo Double Dare on Jan. 13 and 14.
By joining Team Helping Hands, you will be helping support grants that are awarded to local nonprofit organizations that provide vital services in mental health, food insecurity, water safety, literacy, emergency shelter, college readiness and more.

Keep up with summer reading
The Anaheim Public Library will be hosting its summer reading program again to encourage children to keep up with their reading skills during the long school break – and adults can get in on the fun as well.
Beginning May 30, there will be a variety of programs at Anaheim’s local library branches, including magic shows, special story times and more. Participants can track reading progress, earn badges, play games and win prizes, through Aug. 6.

Support for caregivers
Alzheimer’s Orange County is offering new monthly group support for caregivers.
The monthly group offers resources for problem-solving, educational information and emotional support for caregivers for people with dementia and memory loss.

Opportunity to exhibit your art
The Center Gallery located in the Downtown Community Center, 250 E. Center St., provides local artists an opportunity to exhibit.
The center is open to the community from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
There is an online Fine Arts Gallery application that can be completed and submitted at anaheim.net/205/Center-Gallery for consideration for the revolving display. All mediums are welcome and group exhibits are acceptable.

Anaheim High School alumni breakfasts
The Anaheim All-Class Alumni Breakfast welcomes all class alumni at monthly breakfasts held on the first Saturday of every month at Mr D’s, 126 E. Yorba Linda, in Placentia.
