The current Ducks’ Fathers Trip brought back an unforgettable family experience involving Ryan Strome and his mother Trish.
Strome’s father Chris is on this trip, which started on Friday and will continue through Sunday in Las Vegas when the Ducks face the Golden Knights. “I think he’s been on at least five or six trips, so he’s done well,” Strome said.
But Ryan chuckled as he went down memory lane Friday after the Ducks’ morning skate, recalling the Moms Trip two years ago. Strome was playing for the New York Rangers and Trish Strome read the starting lineup in the dressing room before their game against the Chicago Blackhawks, and she delivered the goods in memorable fashion.
“They didn’t tell me and I almost had a heart attack,” Ryan Strome said. “She was, ‘Oh, like my baby’s at center, and she kisses me. I was dying.
“I aged about five years in 35 seconds.”
“Panarin. Move him the puck. MOVE. HIM. THE PUCK.”

INJURY REPORT
The Ducks’ second-leading scorer Troy Terry (upper-body injury) is considered week-to-week and was placed on injured reserve, retroactive to Monday. Terry was injured early on in the Ducks’ game at Dallas on Monday, looking like he was cross-checked in the midsection by Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen.
“It is one of those injuries that sometimes has a life of its own,” Ducks coach Dallas Eakins said. “Fingers crossed. Kind of the week-to-week kind of deal.”
Additionally, goaltender Anthony Stolarz suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday’s game at Chicago and is considered day-to-day, which required the recall of goaltender Olle Eriksson Ek from their AHL affiliate in San Diego. Eriksson is 1-9-0 with the Gulls, with a 4.79 goals-against average and a .851 save percentage.

Ordinarily, goaltender Lukas Dostal would have been the obvious recall but Dostal was set to play for the Gulls against the visiting Coachella Valley Firebirds on Friday night.
“He (Stolarz) was having a hell of a game and sometimes when you’re wired up even though you’re uncomfortable and you don’t quite feel it all until afterwards … he was quite fired up in the net,” Eakins said. “The pain part of it wasn’t really affecting him. So he’s another one, not sure what the timeline on that will be.
“My youngest daughter keeps waiting for him (Stolarz) to turn into a Transformer,” Eakins said. “That’s a lot of wear and tear on the body.”
MEDIA MATTERS
The Ducks’ broadcast team did some juggling as well because long-time color analyst Brian Hayward missed the game because of illness. So Guy Hebert took his spot in the booth – joining play-by-play man John Ahlers. All this led to the local broadcast debut of former Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf, who joined host Kent French for the pregame show as well as intermission and postgame duties.
