A roundup of the Orange County boys basketball games Wednesday in the first round of the CIF Southern Section playoffs:

DIVISION 1

JSerra 64, Great Oak 53: JSerra got big performances from its star players in a road win over Great Oak of Temecula.

Sebastian Rancik had 24 points for JSerra (21-8) and Aidan Fowler added 21 points.

JSerra will host Rolling Hills Prep in a second-round game Friday night.

Crean Lutheran 76, San Juan Hills 66: Kaiden Bailey led the Saints to victory with 22 points. Braeden Davidson scored 15 points and Dylan Gomez added 12 in the contest at Crean Lutheran.

Crean Lutheran (22-7) will take on Mater Dei in a second-round game Friday at Mater Dei.

Mater Dei 78, Long Beach Poly 51: Mater Dei got a dominant first-round win over visiting Long Beach Poly.

Zack Davidson led Mater Dei (23-6) with 19 points. Freshman Brannon Martinsen had 18 points and sophomore Owen Verna had 15. Scotty Belnap also scored 10 points.

DIVISION 2AA

Tesoro 70, Marina 37: Tesoro routed Marina in the first round of the Division 2AA playoffs at Tesoro High.

Carson Brown led the Titans with 26 points and nine rebounds. Blake Manning had 18 points for Tesoro (25-4) and Nathan Draper added 10.

Tesoro will host Crescenta Valley on Friday.

Orange Lutheran 69, Aliso Niguel 52: Orange Lutheran got an easy road win against Aliso Niguel.

Zion Paleo, John Gazzaniga and David Manea each had 12 points for Orange Lutheran (17-10).

Jay Fromm led Aliso Niguel (16-12) with 10 points.

Orange Lutheran will host Edison in a second-round game Friday.

Windward 76, Trabuco Hills 63: Trabuco Hills had its season come to an end with a loss to Windward.

Jack Warnick led the Mustangs with 24 points. Matt Mowers came close to a triple-double with eight points, eight rebounds and 10 assists.

DIVISION 2A

Pacifica Christian 64, Portola 52: Pacifica Christian (21-8) displayed a well-balanced offense in a win over visiting Portola.

EJ Spillman led the Tritons with 16 points. Sarge Deal and Salim Semaan added 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Colin Huang scored 19 points for Portola (14-12) and Devin Daniel added 11.

Dana Hills 70, Valley Christian 67: Dana Hills held off visiting Valley Christian of Cerritos in a first-round playoff game.

Collin Haugh led Dana Hills (19-8) with 22 points. Cole Davison scored 15 points for the Dolphins.

Dana Hills will host Pacifica Christian on Friday.

Downey 67, Cypress 58: Cypress lost in the first round of the playoffs at Downey High.

Michael Wright had 21 points for the Centurions and Kason White added 15.

Cypress (16-13) was the second-place representative from the Empire League.

DIVISION 3AA

Tustin 29, Gahr 18: Tustin came out on top in a very low-scoring game against visiting Gahr.

Eli Nyeazi led all scorers with 20 points for the Tillers.

Tustin (20-9) will travel to play at Camarillo in the second round Friday.

Orangewood Academy 74, West Torrance 51: Cameron Mercadel led Orangewood Academy (22-6) with 20 points. Alier Alier had 14 points and Kole Clark added 11.

Orangewood Academy will play Redlands East Valley on Friday. Redlands East Valley beat Beckman in the first round Wednesday.

DIVISION 3A

Newport Harbor 56, Laguna Hills 41: The Wave League champions beat Laguna Hills at Newport Harbor High.

Jack Berry led Newport Harbor (21-8) with 18 points and Adam Gaa added 16.

The Sailors will play at Cerritos on Friday.

Mission Viejo 61, Western 32: Isaiah Tolmaire led the Diablos with 12 points and six assists. Trey Tolmaire and Jaden Hubbard each had 11 points for Mission Viejo (16-13).

The Diablos will travel to play Ontario Christian Friday.

DIVISION 4AA

Eisenhower 68, St. Margaret’s 64: St. Margaret’s was upset in the first round of the playoffs.

The Tartans were co-champs in the Orange Coast League with Calvary Chapel.

TJ Pavia led St. Margaret’s (21-8) with 16 points. Caden Isola scored 14 points and Russell Frye added 13.

DIVISION 4A

Sage Hill 59, Whittier 37: Carter Bryant scored 29 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and added five blocks and three steals in Sage Hill’s first-round victory.

Johnny Mayhew had 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Sage Hill will play at Holy Martyrs in the second round Friday. Holy Martyrs beat Fairmont of San Juan Capistrano Wednesday.

El Modena 56, Diamond Ranch 55: El Modena pulled out a victory in a thrilling first-round contest against Diamond Ranch.

Drew Rodriguez led the Vanguards with 20 points. Brady Lemnitzer was hot from beyond the arc with four 3-pointers and 16 points.

El Modena (18-11) will play at Yucca Valley on Friday.

DIVISION 5AA

Loara 74, Discovery Christian 47: Loara won its first playoff game since 2018 and did it in convincing fashion against Discovery Christian of Anaheim.

Markus Toscano led Loara with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Remy Ybarra and Sean Dumapias each had 14 points and added seven and five assists, respectively.

Loara (17-12) will play Fillmore on Friday.

DIVISION 5A

Tarbut V’Torah 52, Mesa Grande 44: Freshman Ari Varon paced the Lions with 16 points in their victory. Yonah Light had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Isaac Joelson added 11 points.

Tarbut V’Torah (12-7) will host Southlands Christian Friday.
