The Black Star Canyon Trail near Silverado was closed to the public on Monday, Jan. 16, due to safety concerns over the flood water brought on by the most recent storm.
The closure will remain in effect through Friday, Jan. 20, according to the Orange County Public Works department, in conjunction with Orange County Fire Authority, Orange County Parks and Orange County Sheriff’s Department Emergency Management.
Electronic message boards will be placed near the entrance gate to the trail to inform residents, officials said.
Effective now: In coordination with #OCFA & #OCParks, Black Star Trail in OC’s canyon area is closed now thru Fri, 1/20 due to dangerous flood water conditions & swift water rescue concerns. For your safety, please observe closure signs, stay out of Black Star Canyon at this time
