An Orange County sheriff’s deputy and a passenger in a pickup truck sustained minor injuries in a crash in Rancho Santa Margarita on Wednesday night, Jan. 19, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 10:30 p.m. in the area of Avenida Empresa and Avenida de las Banderas, California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Rafael Reynoso said.
The circumstances leading up to the crash were not known, but the pickup sustained rear-end damage and the patrol SUV sustained front-end damage, Reynoso said.
Neither the deputy nor the passenger in the pickup truck was hospitalized, Reynoso said. The CHP was continuing to investigate the crash.
