SANTA ANA — Two 18-year-olds were charged Friday with fatally shooting a 36-year-old man in Santa Ana in December in what police said was a confrontation over graffiti vandalism in a 7-Eleven store parking lot.

Adan Constantino Reyes and Jesus Daniel Reyes both of Santa Ana, were charged with murder. A 17-year-old boy from Santa Ana was also arrested in connection with the shooting, police said.

They are accused of killing Arturo Marron Gonzalez on Dec. 18 near 2100 S. Main St.

Police were dispatched about 1:45 a.m. Dec. 18 when a victim was shot in the stomach and rushed to an area hospital, police said. A friend of the victim said another victim was in a vehicle near 2100 S. Main St., police said.

When officers went to that location they found Gonzalez in a vehicle in a parking lot suffering a gunshot wound to the upper body, police said. Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jesus Reyes is charged with murder and three counts of attempted murder. Adan Reyes is charged with murder and three counts of attempted murder with sentencing enhancements for the discharge of a gun causing great bodily injury.

It was not known if the defendants are related.
