Cypress’ Rick Feldman, who guided the Centurions to a 10-0 regular season and runner-up finish in CIF-SS Division 4, has been named the Chargers’ Orange County coach of the year.
The Chargers made the announcement Sunday during halftime of their game against Miami at SoFi Stadium.
Feldman outdueled finalists Jeff Bailey of Yorba Linda and Steven Anderson of Westminster in online voting for the award and earned $2,000 for the Cypress athletics program.
All three coaches were weekly winners during the season and earned $1,000 for their programs.

Feldman attended the Chargers-Miami game with Cypress players Trevor Monteleone, Aidan Houston, Jacob Wilkie and Nathan Schneider and a few of his assistant coaches.
Cypress lost to Downey 40-7 in the section final and finished 13-1.
Feldman, who completed his ninth season, was The Register’s Orange County coach of the year in 2021.
