Irvine-based TMC Hospitality’s brand is opening its third hotel under the Drift brand in early 2023 in downtown Palm Springs.
The hotel, designed with partners o2 Architecture and Folklor, will include 30 rooms with a distinct Californian desert style combined with the brand’s Baja California roots.
Drift Palm Springs also will include Maleza, a Baja-inspired restaurant in partnership with Jorge Espindola and Cesar Pita of San Jose del Cabo-based Roots and Roads.
Suites will come with two to four bedrooms and kitchens. Amenities will feature a resort-style pool and cabanas, and the Drift Pool Bar.
Acra Lending merging 4 offices into 1 Irvine office building
Acra Lending is consolidating four local offices into a single space at the Irvine Spectrum business complex.
The company, also known as Citadel Servicing, has leased a full-floor, or 24,360 square feet, at 3 Ada, a two-story office building at Lakeview Business Center.
No financial terms were provided by Avison Young, which represented Acra.
Acra Lending’s move into the new space should be complete by spring 2023, according to Oliver Fleener at Avison Young.

IHP partners on another housing project
Newport Beach-based IHP Capital Partners and Johnson Development have partnered on a project that eventually will be home to a 1,400-acre community in Magnolia, Texas.
The development is expected to have up to 3,700 new homes near the Houston and College Station areas.
This is the second residential project Johnson Development and IHP Capital Partners are developing together. The companies also worked on a master-planned community called Veranda, which is also within the Houston area.
“Notwithstanding the current market turbulence, IHP has a bullish long-term outlook on housing fundamentals in the Houston housing market,” said Richard Whiteley, co-president and chief operating officer at IHP Capital Partners. “Partnering with the skilled team at Johnson Development increases our level of conviction in this new investment.”
Builders are expected to get the housing lots in late 2024, according to IHP.

Hanley’s Movember campaign raises $33K for men’s cancer
Corona Del Mar-based Hanley Investment Group Real Estate Advisors raised $33,265 during its Movember fundraising campaign.
The company’s theme this year was “Taking Care of Business to Support Men’s Mental and Physical Health,” and represents the firm’s 12th consecutive year growing mustaches in the month of November. The campaign raises awareness and money for research into prostate and testicular cancer, along with supporting mental health and suicide prevention.
Hanley Investment Group has raised $333,400 for Movember since 2011.
Hanley and Nathan Holthouser, president of Coastal Commercial, co-hosted a fundraising event at Muldoon’s Irish Pub in Newport Beach at which a portion of all bar sales was donated to Movember.

Century 21 Discovery raised $27,000 for local charities at its 27th annual dinner and auction.
The recipient charities are Boys and Girls Clubs of Fullerton, Fullerton Cares Autism, Meals on Wheels of Fullerton, National Giving Alliance Fullerton, Providence St. Jude Memorial Foundation, Tara’s Chance and Women’s Transitional Living Center.
The annual dinner has raised $450,000 for Orange County charities since its inception.

100 families get a little holiday help from HomeQuest
Yorba Linda-based HomeQuest and its sister company J & H Asset Property Management Inc. are helping nearly 100 families in need this holiday season.
The companies said they are partnering with dozens of clients who own manufactured home communities, donating more than $95,000 in gifts, gift cards, and rental assistance to residents in those communities.
“Our Adopt-a-Family program is a special holiday tradition that is more important than ever as inflation continues to rise and more people struggle to make ends meet,” said Shane Joffe, partner and general manager of HomeQuest.
