For most, making plans during the holiday season can feel like an overwhelming avalanche as this time of year is typically packed with parties, family and all of those ideas you had that just never came to fruition.

With COVID-19 restrictions eased and most event spaces resuming pre-pandemic activities, it’s easy to get lost in plotting what to do or who to be with on New Year’s Eve.

Regardless if you view New Year’s Eve as a celebratory event or just another day, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best live shows and concerts happening on Dec. 31. Be sure to make your reservations and buy those tickets early, because they tend to sell out quickly as people begin to make those last-minute NYE plans.

Big Sandy’s Rockin’ Luau

Capital Cities

Ken Carson

Rock ‘N’ Roll New Year’s Eve Bash

Universal Studios Hollywood announces the return of its New Year’s Eve party

Maroon 5

Los Angeles-based pop rock band Maroon 5 will ring in the New Year by helping break in a brand new venue out in the Thousand Palms area. Michael Rault & Friends

The Canadian-bred, Los Angeles-based indie-folk artist will host a special evening concert at Permanent Records Roadhouse. The Roots 

The Grammy-winning jazz, hip-hop group — and house band for “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” — will bring its West Coast Holiday Tour for two shows in Los Angeles. The band will play two sets on Dec. 31 at 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Walt Disney Concert Hall, 111 S Grand Ave, Los Angeles. $69-$249 at laphil.com.

Starcrawler

Colors Worldwide Presents: R&B ONLY

Insomniac’s New Year’s Eve party has been taken over by space aliens and has been dubbed Rize of the Ravebotz. Minimal Effort

Prohibition NYE

Jay Leno

Comedian Jay Leno is back to touring just weeks after suffering second and third-degree burns on his hands and face.
