If exploding zombie heads and eerie animations of impending doom weren’t enough of a gamble, now you can quite literally make it a gamble with the new “Resident Evil: Vendetta” slot machine at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino in Highland.

“As long as our guests love it, we’re going to keep it on the floor and, so far, this has been a great start, so we anticipate having it around for a while,” said Kenji Hall, chief operation officer of gaming at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino, in a recent phone interview.

The game made its debut Oct. 24 and gaming influencers from the YouTube channels AkaFuji Slots and Kuri Slots tested it out. The night before Halloween, actor and star of “Resident Evil: Afterlife,” Boris Kodjoe, and other zombie actors posed with club members for photos.

“What we wanted to do was put it out there with a bang and give our members an opportunity to play it with us exclusively,” Hall said.

“Resident Evil: Vendetta” was developed with Sega Sammy Creation in partnership with Capcom and is exclusively at the casino for the majority of November. Three units of the game were installed on the casino’s second floor. The new game includes a multi-stage feature, zombies that offer a bonus when blown up on screen and the chance to increase the win with other multiplying bonuses. Each pull uses sounds and animation as players move forward with their gamble.

Hall said that the slot machine doesn’t run users through a storyline, but does include aspects from the franchise. He said the game’s innovative take is something the casino aims to provide its guests on the game floor and the exclusive allows them to be the first.

Yaamava’ Resort & Casino currently has over 7,000 slots on its gaming floors. Last year the property finished its expansion that began in 2018. The newly renovated property welcomed a 17-floor hotel tower that opened at the property last December. In April, it added the Yaamava’ Theater to its casino, hosting major acts such as Maná’ and Pink.
