The Santa Barbara County Wine Region is hosting a series of fall events in Orange County. The tastings have been so popular that all but one night has sold out. The remaining experience on Thursday, Nov. 17, will feature small production and sought-after wines and small bites by the culinary team at Wine Gallery, a woodfire kitchen and wine bar in Laguna Beach. The nonprofit Santa Barbara Vintners Association hosts these events to encourage local travelers to visit the region and explore the area’s wineries.
Santa Barbara’s valleys create a patchwork of micro-climates and terrains. This results in diverse grape growing regions. Located 130 miles north of Orange County, Santa Barbara features seven AVAs with more than 300 wine labels. In 2021, Santa Barbara Wine Country was named Wine Enthusiast’s Wine Region of the Year. The area and its wine makers continue to receive accolades. At Wine Enthusiast’s wine star awards, Santa Barbara County’s William Foley will be honored this year with the Wine Star 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award.
At the Thursday event in Laguna Beach, guests will learn about what are the best wines to gift and pour this holiday season. Tickets are $25 and are expected to sell out.
