Pasha Golestaneh had a kick return for a touchdown and an interception return for a touchdown for Canyon in a 35-21 win over Colony of Ontario on Friday in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 5 playoffs at Colony High.
Christian Lundsberg ran for a touchdown and threw a touchdown pass to Jaden Gonzales.
Canyon (9-2) trailed by 14 points in the first half.
Golestaneh returned an interception for a touchdown to give the Comanches a 28-21 lead with 5:26 remaining in the game. Lundsberg threw a touchdown pass to Kayvon Monfared in the final minute of the game.
Canyon will host Etiwanda in the next round at El Modena High.

DIVISION 3
Upland 23, No. 13 Tesoro 22: The Titans had a 22-20 lead with just over three minutes of the game when Andrew Ash of Upland intercepted a pass and set up a game-winning field goal for Upland at Upland High School.
Cash O’Byrne completed 16 of 24 passes for 257 yards with two touchdown passes for Tesoro (6-5). Travis Wood had 176 total yards with a touchdown reception. Jack Brundage ran for a touchdown for the Titans.
DIVISION 6
No. 17 San Juan Hills 35, Palm Desert 0: San Juan Hills dominated on defense in a shutout win over Palm Desert at San Juan Hills High.
The Stallions held Palm Desert to under 130 yards of total offense and had interceptions by Andrew Easton and Ryan Hagani.
Michael Tollefson threw touchdown passes to Chris Williams, Jon Shigo and Colton Chase. Chase also had an 80-yard touchdown run for San Juan Hills (4-7).
Sullivan Land had a long touchdown run in the third quarter to extend the lead to 35.
In the next round San Juan Hills will play the winner of Saturday’s game between Orange and Huntington Beach.
Culver City 35, No. 19 El Dorado 24: Nate Bento threw two touchdown passes for El Dorado in a loss to Culver City at Valencia High.
Gaven Rivera caught a 75-yard touchdown pass for El Dorado (7-4) and Ryan Sugar had a touchdown reception.
Isaiah Quintero ran for a touchdown for the Golden Hawks, who were an at-large representative from the North Hills League.
San Jacinto 57, No. 20 Trabuco Hills 51: Will Burns threw for 361 yards and ran for 157 in a high-scoring loss to San Jacinto at Trabuco Hills High.
The senior quarterback threw three touchdown passes and ran for a pair of touchdowns. Ryan Luce had 132 yards on 13 receptions with a touchdown. Derek Fishel and Taylor Bowie added touchdown catches for Trabuco Hills (7-4).
Bowie added two rushing touchdowns for the Mustangs.
DIVISION 7
Laguna Hills 42, Eisenhower 23: Troy Leigber ran for 250 yards and had five total touchdowns for Laguna Hills in a convincing win at Eisenhower High.
Laguna Hills (10-1) will host Ontario Christian in the second round Friday, Nov. 11.
No. 23 Western 21, Buena 20: Anthony Luna connected with Drew Faulkner for a touchdown pass and 2-point conversion in the fourth quarter to lead Western to a close win over Buena at Western High.
Luna threw for 203 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Faulkner had 83 yards receiving with a touchdown and Quimari Shemwell had a touchdown reception.
Western (9-1) will host King of Riverside next week.
DIVISION 9
Laguna Beach 24, West Torrance 21: Tight end Ryner Swanson had 141 yards receiving and a touchdown for Laguna Beach in a home win over West Torrance.
Sophomore quarterback Jackson Kollock threw for 239 yards with a touchdown and added a touchdown on the ground for Laguna Beach (8-3).
Laguna Beach will travel to play La Quinta of La Quinta in the second round Friday, Nov. 11.
DIVISION 10
Santa Ana 14, Fillmore 7: Top-seeded Santa Ana ran for over 250 yards in a low-scoring win over Fillmore at Santa Ana Stadium.
The Saints trailed 7-0 at halftime and were playing without starting quarterback Sergio Torres, who suffered an injury in the regular-season finale against Orange. Backup quarterback Stephen Hughes threw two touchdown passes to Joseph Foster.
Hughes and Jayderick Garcia led the rushing attack for Santa Ana (8-3).
The Saints will play Palmdale on the road in round two.
Baldwin Park 28, Dana Hills 16: Dana Hills led in the fourth quarter but allowed two fourth-quarter touchdowns to Baldwin Park in a loss at Dana Hills High.
The Dolphins had four turnovers in the game, including two on fourth downs. Christian Guarascio had 167 yards rushing and had a touchdown reception for Dana Hills (6-5).
Dominic Barto had an interception for the Dolphins and Connor Vernon threw a touchdown pass to Chase Berry.
DIVISION 11
St. Margaret’s 55, Segerstron 27: Max Ruff tied a school record with seven touchdown passes in a win over Segerstrom at Segerstrom High.
He tied his brother Jack, who set the record last season. Derek Smith led the Tartans in receiving with 130 yards and Sam Dunnell had 115 yards. They each had three touchdown receptions.
St. Margaret’s (5-6) will host South Pasadena in the second round Friday, Nov. 11.

DIVISION 14
Whittier Christian 35, Temecula Prep 18: Caleb Mer ran for two touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass for Whittier Christian in a home win over Temecula Prep.
Gavin Gallegos recovered a fumble which set up a rushing touchdown by Jake Martinez in the second quarter.
Whittier Christian (7-4) will play at Bolsa Grande in the second round.
