Noteworthy: He won the elite division boys race at the Dana Hills Invitational, finishing nine seconds ahead of his closest competitor. Hernandez completed the 3-mile course in 14 minutes, 35.1 seconds. He won his first three races this season, including at the Laguna Hills Invitational. Hernandez this past track and field season qualified for the Nike Outdoor National where he ran the mile in 4:20. “He is a tireless trainer,” said Godinez cross country coach Stephen Fedele. “He takes it very seriously.” Hernandez has a 4.04 grade-point average and is taking four AP/honors classes.
