This year, National Taco Day coincides with Taco Tuesday. To celebrate, Puesto Mexican Artisan Kitchen & Bar is offering an opportunity for its dine-in customers to win a Puesto Golden Ticket, which is redeemable for a $50 gift card.
On Oct. 4, Puesto will attach a Golden Ticket to the bottom of three-taco plates. The promotion will be offered all day at all four Orange County Puesto locations. Even if you don’t find a Golden Ticket, you still can enjoy Taco Tuesday at Puesto. All tacos are half off for dine-in service from 3 p.m. to closing. This special is good every Tuesday.
Puesto was born in Mexico City and built in Southern California. It serves contemporary Mexican cuisine and is known for its street-style tacos. Puesto’s tacos are served on handmade, organic, non-GMO corn tortillas. The ingredients stuffed inside include free-range Jidori chicken which is used for the chicken al pastor with hibiscus and chipotle tinga, avocado, and crispy melted cheese. Salmon Creek Farms pork is braised and served as a gluten-free taco with avocado tomatillo salsa. The Baja fish taco is made with Puesto beer battered local line-caught fish and classic guacamole, crema and Morita salsa. The beer used for the batter is brewed at Puesto Cervecería in Mission Valley, San Diego. The brewer’s Mexican Negra Lager was awarded a silver medal at the Great American Beer Festival.
Puesto offers beef tacos stuffed with filet mignon and short rib. But the vegetarian taco offerings such as the garlic-braised seasonal mushroom with stone fruit serrano salsa and pickled onions and the Verduras taco with squash, potatoes, corn, tomato, nopales and a zucchini blossom are surprisingly satisfying.
