A woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after she drove her car into the water off a Newport Beach dock Friday night, Aug. 19, authorities said.
Bystanders helped rescue the woman from the car after they saw it plunge into Newport Bay, CBS LA reported.
One witness told the station he got a piece of pipe from a railing and bashed in both windows of the car before someone opened the trunk and pulled her out.

The crash occurred about 7:45 p.m. near Via Genoa and Vido Lido Nord, Newport Beach Lt. Justin Morouse said.
The driver was not seriously injured, he said.
The woman drove through a playground at a nearby park before reaching the dock, CBS reported. She was not identified by authorities.
