Pacifica has promoted Randy Franzman to head coach of its football team to replace Vinnie Lopez who resigned last week.
Franzman, 58, has coached in the Pacifica football program for many seasons. A 1983 graduate of Pacifica, Franzman was an assistant coach for Bill Craven at Pacifica.
After some years away Franzman returned to Pacifica football in 2014 and for the past few years has been the head coach of the school’s freshman and junior varsity teams.
Lopez cited personal reasons for his decision to leave Pacifica after seven seasons.
Pacifica opens its season against Orange at El Modena High on Aug. 18.
