A suspected hit-and-run driver was wanted after striking a bicyclist in La Habra on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 7, leaving the cyclist hospitalized in critical condition, police said.
The collision unfolded at 4:43 p.m. in the 500 block of West La Habra Boulevard when a white Chevrolet Silverado struck the cyclist, a La Habra resident, the La Habra Police Department said in a news release. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and took the 53-year-old cyclist to a local hospital, police said.
It wasn’t immediately clear who was driving the truck, police said. The truck was described as having an extended cab, with silver stock rims, a construction rack in the truck’s bed and with damage to its center grill, hood and driver’s side headlight, the Police Department said.
The driver fled the scene and it wasn’t immediately clear where they were last seen.
