Corona fire investigators on Monday, Aug. 8, were taking a close look at a recreational vehicle that burned inside a hangar at Corona Municipal Airport the day before.
The RV was towed to an evidence-storage area, said Battalion Chief Ryan Rolston, who was the incident commander on the fire.
The full-sized RV, a small single-engine boat, a sport-utility vehicle and a single-engine airplane were all damaged by the flames, said Cindy Solis, a city spokeswoman.
The ignition point had not been narrowed down to the RV and the cause of the fire remained under investigation, Rolston said.
The airport was shut down from just after 1 p.m. Sunday, when the fire was reported, to about 5 p.m., Solis said.
No injury was reported.
About 300 aircraft are based at the airport, which has two runways. The airport is operated by Corona on land leased to the city by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
