Victor Novak, brewmaster of Golden Road Brewing, has left the craft brewery, according to an Instragram post.
Golden Road confirmed his departure in an email but did not give a reason.
“Golden Road brewmaster Victor Novak is moving on after eight years with us, and we wish him the very best for his next step,” the statement read.
Novak has made a name for himself in Southern California’s craft brew scene over the last two decades. He worked on such beverages as a Passion Fruit Hard Kombucha and Golden Road’s line of fruit-flavored hard seltzers, according to the “SoCal Restaurant Show” podcast. And he worked on Ride On, Golden Road’s 10-anniversary line of IPAs, according to beer news website Daily Keg.
Before joining Golden Road in 2014, Novak was head brewer at TAPS Fish House & Brewery in Brea.
Golden Road was founded in Los Angeles in 2011, acquired by Anheuser-Busch in 2015 and currently operates five pubs in L.A., Orange County and Sacramento. It has a high profile in Orange County, with a 40,000-square-foot facility across Orangewood Avenue from Angel Stadium. It later opened a waterfront pub in Huntington Beach.
