The Yankees have brought back Tyler Wade. The utility player who was designated for assignment by the Angels last week was re-acquired by the Bombers on Thursday, a source confirmed.

The Yankees had dealt him to Anaheim in December when they needed to make room on their 40-man roster for younger prospects.

Wade, 28, played in 67 games, 48 starts, with the Angels this season playing all three outfield positions and everything in the infield except first base and catcher. In a career-high 163 plate appearances this season, Wade hit just .218/.272/.272 with an .544 OPS and one home run.

A fourth-round pick of the Yankees in 2013, Wade will report to Triple-A Scranton, giving the Yankees some defensive depth if needed.
