A man was shot and left in critical condition on Sunday night in La Habra, authorities said early Monday morning, July 4.
After a brief pursuit, a watch commander with La Habra Police said officers quickly detained two men in connection with the shooting. They don’t believe any additional suspects remain outstanding, a press release said.
The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. Sunday, July 3, in the area of Walnut Street and First Avenue, where a residential neighborhood meets up with a stretch of commercial businesses.
Police got a call of shots fired in the area. When they arrived, they found a man, who is in his early 30s, suffering from a gunshot wound.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and took the man to a local trauma center, where he was last listed in critical condition.
No additional information about the men detained, the man shot or what led to the shooting were available Monday morning.
The investigation is still ongoing, and police said they are looking for more information.
