A convicted felon was arrested on suspicion of possession of multiple firearms and narcotics in Fountain Valley, police announced Saturday.

On Friday, Fountain Valley officers responded to a report of a high-powered pellet gun being fired in the vicinity of a public area near the 10000 block of El Plano Avenue, according to Fountain Valley Detective Sgt. Bill Hughes.

At the scene, they detained 42-year-old Joseph Pham of Fountain Valley. A records check revealed that Pham was a convicted felon, Hughes said. Pham was also a person of interest in previous reports of the shooting of a high-powered pellet gun into nearby residences.

Fountain Valley police detectives later served a warrant to search Pham’s residence and allegedly found a Glock handgun, an AR-15 assault rifle, several high-powered pellet rifles and handguns, ammunition, high-capacity magazines, hunting scopes and also methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia, Hughes said.

The Glock and the AR-15 were not serialized and were determined to be ghost guns, Hughes said. Pham was arrested and booked on charges of a felon being in possession of firearms, possession of narcotics, felony vandalism and the alleged shooting into an inhabited building. Pham was sent to the Orange County jail.

His bail was set at $25,000 and according to jail records, Pham remained in custody Saturday.
