Ducks sign left wing Frank Vatrano to 3-year contract

The Ducks signed left wing Frank Vatrano to a three-year, $10.95-million contract in the opening hours of the NHL free-agent signing period Wednesday, adding a 28-year-old depth player to their roster.

Vatrano has been a consistent but modest point-producer in his career.

Vetrano had 18 goals and 14 assists in 71 games in 2021-22, splitting the season between the Florida Panthers and New York Rangers. He had eight goals and five assists in 22 games after the Panthers traded him to the Rangers. He also had five goals and eight assists in 20 playoff games with New York.

Overall, he has 101 goals and 69 assists in 401 games in his career with the Rangers, Panthers and Boston Bruins. He was undrafted after playing two seasons at the University of Massachusetts, signing as a free agent with the Bruins on March 15, 2015. Boston traded him to Florida on Feb. 22, 2018.
