The remaining performances of South Coast Repertory’s main Segerstrom Stage production of “Our Town” have been canceled after multiple cast members tested positive for COVID-19.

In a tweet on Thursday night, June 2, the theater announced that the final four performances — Thursday evening, Friday evening and a matinee and evening show on Saturday — would not be rescheduled.

“We are truly sorry for this inconvenience,” SCR announced.

The theater’s ticket services office is reaching out to ticket holders for these performances to inform them of options for exchanges to future productions or refunds.

The production of the classic Thornton Wilder play, which has a sizable cast of 16, was canceled on May 22 due to positive COVID-19 test results.

Two other plays currently at the theater — “Tiger Style!” on the theater’s Julianne Argyros stage and the Teen Players’ production of “Nickolas Nickleby” in the Nicholas Studio — are not affected and will be presented this weekend as planned.
