St. John Bosco’s football team has added another high-profile transfer to a roster that is ranked No. 1 in the nation and headed toward another showdown with rival Mater Dei.

Los Alamitos wide receiver/safety Deandre Moore Jr. (6-0, 190) confirmed Thursday night that he has enrolled at St. John Bosco, which has received several impact transfers this offseason.

Moore, a senior committed to Louisville, made an immediate impact in first season at Los Alamitos in 2021.

He was selected the Sunset League’s all-purpose player of the year after helping the Griffins (9-2) win the league title and reach the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs. Los Alamitos lost at St. John Bosco 63-38 in the first round.

Moore played wide receiver, defensive back and running back.

He grew up around the Los Alamitos Pop Warner program but moved to Las Vegas in the sixth grade.

Moore emerged as a standout at Desert Pines High in Las Vegas as a freshman in 2019 but the school didn’t play football the following season amid the pandemic.

He committed to Oklahoma while at Los Alamitos in the fall but switched to Louisville in May.

At St. John Bosco, Moore will join forces with fellow Louisville commits Pierce Clarkson, a quarterback, Aaron Williams, a cornerback who transferred from Centennial Corona, and athlete Jahlil McClain.

The Braves also have added transfers such as linemen Sean Na’a of Westlake and Raymond Pulido of Apple Valley, wide receivers Eric Denhman of Centennial Corona and Israel Polk of Pittsburgh in Northern California, tight end Camden Jones of Maranatha and defensive back Christian Dunbar-Hawkins of Alemany.

All the transfers are seniors except Jones, a junior.

The speedy Moore is the highest-ranked transfer of the group, according to 247sports. He is the No. 6-ranked senior in California. Williams is ranked 10th while Pulido is 34th.

St. John Bosco and Mater Dei are ranked first and second, respectively, in the MaxPreps national preseason poll. Mater Dei, the defending Division 1 and state champion, plays host to the Braves at Santa Ana Stadium on Oct. 7.

The Monarchs have defeated St. John Bosco the past two seasons for the Trinity League title.
