PHILADELPHIA — The Angels nightmare got even worse.
Jimmy Herget gave up a three-run homer to Bryson Stott with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, dropping the Angels to a 9-7 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies that ran their streak to 11 straight losses. They last lost 11 games in a row in 2016.
The Angels had blown a four-run lead in the eighth when Raisel Iglesias gave up a grand slam to Bryce Harper. They took a one-run lead in the top of the ninth on an RBI single by Matt Duffy.
Iglesias then gave up two singles in the bottom of the ninth before Herget entered and allowed the game-winning homer to Stott.
