Fire investigators were looking into the cause and trying to determine a damage estimate for a blaze at a taco restaurant in Old Towne Orange on Tuesday night, May 24, authorities said.
Firefighters were called to Taco Adobe, at 121 N. Lemon St., just before 11:25 p.m. and arrived to find smoke and fire at the rear of the restaurant, said Capt. Ryan O’Connor of the Orange Fire Department.
Firefighters immediately attacked the fire, with some climbing the building and cutting a large hole in the roof to ventilate smoke and gases, O’Connor said. Other crews shut down utilities and checked for any fire in the attic and adjacent buildings.
About 25 firefighters, including those with the Orange County Fire Authority, knocked down the blaze in about 15 minutes, the captain said. No injuries were reported and firefighters remained on scene for about three hours, O’Connor said.
