Two suspects tried to rob a T-Mobile store in Seal Beach earlier this week, but were stopped by an employee who fought with one of them, officials said Thursday.
Seal Beach police received a call about a robbery at the store located at 12800 Seal Beach Boulevard just before 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10.
Two suspects entered the store and attempted to “steal high-end cellular phones by cutting the security cables affixed to the display,” a news release from the department sent out Thursday said.
An employee at the store tried to stop one of the suspects from leaving the store and physically fought with the suspect until the suspect fled through the parking lot. The employee was not injured. Video surveillance from the store shows the confrontation and some of the altercation.
Both suspects got into a gold-colored Lexus sedan before police arrived. A witness said one of the suspects was holding a firearm, but it was not discharged during the incident.
