SOFTBALL TOP 25

1. Los Alamitos (24-7): The Griffins jump to No. 1 after knocking off undefeated Oaks Christian, ranked No. 1 in the state, to reach their first CIF-SS Division 1 final since 2017.
2. Orange Lutheran (21-9): The Lancers showcased their talent in beating Villa Park during a run to Division 1 quarterfinals.
3. Villa Park (24-5): The Spartans’ sizzling start to the season included beating Division 1 finalists Los Alamitos and Roosevelt.
4. Pacifica (26-5): The Mariners showed plenty of fight in the quarterfinals, scoring four runs in the seventh to tie host Roosevelt before losing on a walk-off sacrifice fly.
5. Esperanza (19-12): The Aztecs fell in the second round of the Division 1 playoffs but savored first-round win against Mater Dei.
6. Huntington Beach (21-8): The Oilers illustrated the parity that dominated the spring by sweeping Los Alamitos in the Surf League.
7. Canyon (23-6): The Comanches’ win at the Carew Classic against Saint Francis of Mountain View — which beat Los Alamitos — is aging well.
8. Mission Viejo (25-5): The Diablos outscored their four opponents a combined 20-0 to reach the CIF Division 2 final this week.
9. Mater Dei (17-10): The Monarchs’ Anika Ewert and Madison Rodriguez were among the selections for the O.C. all-star game May 25.
10. La Habra (20-8): The Highlanders lost to Division 2 finalist Millikan 6-5 in eight innings in the second round of the Division 2 playoffs.
