Name: Jared Steins
School: Servite
Sport: Track and field
Year: Senior
Noteworthy: He won the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 meters at the Trinity League Finals. His times were 1 minute, 59.91 seconds in the 800, a personal-best 4:19.26 in the 1,600 and 9:43.50 in the 3,200. Last month he won the mile at the Mt. SAC Relays and finished sixth in the 3,200 at the Arcadia Invitational. He was Trinity League cross country MVP this past fall. Steins is a finalist for the National Merit Scholarship award and is the Servite salutatorian (the student who ranks second-highest academically, behind the valedictorian). He will attend Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
