A new bronze plaque with their faces was unveiled in Park Semper Fi.

Wayne Eggleston, a former mayor, spearheaded the creation of Semper Fi Park with The Heritage of San Clemente Foundation; he wanted to make sure, he said, the Marines and sailors that pass through town had a place of remembrance and there was a spot to show the community’s pride for those who serve. The park includes a life-size statue of a Marine in his dress blues overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
