Reports of screaming coming from an SUV parked in Anaheim led to the discovery of a recently deceased man’s body and the detainment of another person who was in the vehicle Sunday morning, May 8.
People heard shouting from a parked car in the area of the 1500 block of West Ball Road and called Anaheim police at 8:39 a.m., the Anaheim Police Department said in a news release. Responding officers found the vehicle and contacted a man who exited the vehicle and detained him, authorities said. His name was not immediately released.
When police searched the car, officers found a recently dead man who had suffered unspecified trauma inside of the car, police said. The nature of the injuries was not immediately disclosed.
No additional suspects were sought and there was no further threat to public safety, authorities said.
The victim’s identity was not immediately released, pending notification of next-of-kin, police said.
Ball Road between Loara Street and Gilbuck Drive was expected to remain closed for the remainder of Sunday, police said.
