Universal Studios Hollywood’s annual Halloween Horror Nights will return in 2022 with eight new haunted houses starting Sept. 8 and running select evenings through Halloween night Oct. 31.
Producers have revealed that the first attraction will bring classic monsters The Wolf Man, Dracula and The Mummy together in Universal Monsters: Legends Collide. Set in the 19th century, the maze will feature the infamous trio battling over the Amulet of Ra, which they believe has great powers. It’s a race against the full moon as the monsters try to claim their prize with guests caught in the middle of all the bloody action as they wind through the dark halls of the attraction.
Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash will also return to collaborate with the theme park in creating an original composition for the haunted house. In previous years, Slash has created scores for several mazes including last year’s Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein. In 2014, he wrote an original song for a psychedelic 3D clown maze and composed 19 pieces of music for the Universal Monsters maze in 2018, which featured all of the monsters including Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolf Man, The Phantom of the Opera, Bride of Frankenstein and more. The following year he wrote new music for Universal Monsters: Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man.
Additional mazes for the 2022 season and ticket on sale information will be announced in the coming months. For more information on Halloween Horror Nights, go to Hollywood.HalloweenHorrorNights.com.
