Three children killed, allegedly by their mother and a teenager, in their West Hills home over the weekend have been identified.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office said the slain children were 12-year-old Natalie Flores, 10-year-old Kevin Yanez, 8-year-old Nathan Yanez.
The coroner’s office said all three cases were under seal. Officials would not release a cause of death for any of the children on Tuesday.
Police discovered the children’s bodies at the home in the 22500 block of Victory Boulevard on Sunday, Mother’s Day, hours after neighbors reported their mother’s strange activity. According to multiple reports, Angela Dawn Flores, 38, was heard screaming near the home and later in her neighbor’s yard, with a candle and clutching a Bible. Paramedics took her away.
By Sunday morning, someone called 911 reporting an assault with a deadly weapon at the home. When officers went inside, they found all the children unresponsive.
A 16-year-old was taken from the home and later arrested. He’s in custody in Sylmar Juvenile Hall.
Flores was booked on suspicion of the murders of all three children. Police said she admitted killing them.
The 16-year-old, who has not been publicly identified yet, was booked on suspicion of one murder.
Neither have been charged yet. LAPD Assistant Chief Dominic Choi in a Tuesday morning meeting with the L.A. Police Commission said detectives in the department’s Juvenile Division would be submitted charges for Flores later in the day.
