Today, a seventh completed mural will be unveiled at Westminster High.
The 40-foot-long piece was a collaboration between art students and Mexican artist Farid Rueda, invited to campus by teacher Daina Anderson.
Through the years, Anderson has invited artists from Spain, South Korean and Canada, as well as more locally, to create with her students and help broaden their “understanding of humanity.”
The pandemic canceled visits the last two years, but this year Rueda was able to visit and spend the week painting with her 180 students.
Anderson said she raised $5,000 to bring the artist to the U.S. though a GoFundMe campaign and selling potato chips out of her classroom.
