Tony Davis, the head coach at Mayfair the past 15 seasons, is the new basketball coach at Servite.
Davis, 41, led the Monsoons to two CIF Southern Section championships and 12 Suburban League championships. He had more than 300 wins at Mayfair.
The Monsoons this past season finished 18-8 overall and were second in the Suburban League with a 4-2 league record. They lost to Cypress in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 2AA playoffs.
Mayfair won CIF-SS championships in 2012 and 2019 during Davis’ tenure.
He replaces John Morris, who resigned after the 2021-22 season. He was the team’s coach for 12 seasons.
Servite was 11-12 overall and 0-10 in the Trinity League this past season. The Friars lost to Canyon in the first round of the 2AA playoffs.

Capistrano Valley Christian coach Chris Childress was an assistant coach for Davis at Mayfair.
“I think he’ll do a heck of a job there,” Childress said. “He always gets the best out of his guys. Servite couldn’t have hired a better guy when it comes to caring about the kids.”
The Trinity League is well known for its high level of achievement in all sports including boys basketball. Outside of league play last season, the six Trinity League boys basketball teams had a combined nonleague record of 86-27, for a winning percentage of 76.
