Why Wallows’ Coachella 2022 set is a chance to take care of ‘unfinished business’ at the festival

Vedder brought the Ohana Festival back to Doheny State Beach for its fifth year after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic in September 2021. Though a freak rainstorm caused the venue to be evacuated during the early part of the first day of the festival, fans were able to safely return and enjoy the rest of the show. The remainder of the fest went swimmingly.

Vedder actually performed in the headlining slot for all three evenings, replacing Kings of Leon on Friday, who had to abruptly return home just the day before due to the death of the mother of band members Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill. Vedder played solo with an all-star crew Friday and Saturday and closed out the fest on Sunday with Pearl Jam. Other performers included Brandi Carlile, My Morning Jacket, Black Pumas, Maggie Rogers, The Frames, Spoon, Yola, Cold War Kids and Sharon Van Etten.

It was also the first year that Ohana included an encore weekend that featured Pearl Jam headlining both evenings with support from Beck, Lord Huron, Carlile, Sleater-Kinney, Margo Price, White Reaper and more.
